This section is dedicated to the Game Archives program, which is a digital distribution service that provides older titles for your PS3, PSP, or PSV.

The Game Archives program follows in line with the rest of Sony's region freedom policy. Each region of the PlayStation Network offers a different assortment of titles in Game Archive, and not all of them play nicely with certain platforms. Here are a few ground rules that we must establish before moving on. I should note now that most of the rules applied to digital PSP, PSV, and PSN titles apply for Game Archives, if you are not familiar with them then please scroll up to those posts and review them.

  • The digital titles offered are from the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Japan PlayStation Network regional stores.
  • This selection currently covers PSOne Classics, PS2 Classics, and PC Engine titles.
  • The PlayStation 3 does not have region free capability for physical foreign region PSOne games. Do not import disc-based PSOne games
  • The PlayStation 4 does not support any of these games.
  • For further information on PSN account creation and pre-paid card resources, please refer back to other posts such as PS3 Digital or Vita.
