Not going to lie, been enjoying some of these shows. I didn't really feel it at times last year but been enjoying this year. :iiam:

I think they really enjoy themselves when they have new music to mix into their sets. I liked the shows I went to last year but I didn't really listen to the tour beyond that.

I am all that is man.
I've never done a multi-night run, but I'm gonna try to make Vegas for Halloween and Nov. 1. Is there something I should know about where night 3 of a 3 night run is always great or something? Trying to decide if I need to do all 3 nights.

And I'm glad they're hitting San Diego so I don't have to drive up to Inglewood, but god drat do I hate going to the amphitheater in Chula Vista.

With 3.0 Phish you never know. They could lay an egg for all three nights. I wouldn't bet on it but it could happen. You'll probably see one stinker and a couple good shows.

They definitely seem re-energized with the new songs. Trey (and everyone else but most of all Trey) seems really excited about the new album. It has to get tiring/boring to play the same songs over and over year after year. I mean, Junta came out 25 years ago and they still play most of the songs constantly. So when they have a bunch of new songs that the crowd gets into and they enjoy playing, it feeds into the other songs as well, and makes everything better.

But it also really depends on how much the crowd enjoys the new album (re: Joy and people walking out to get beer during TTE).

Hard to argue with a free, high quality livecast, but been a bit of a mess tonight. Restless Trey syndrome.

The ripcord after Chalkdust was weak, but the songs themselves have been great. I'll definitely have to come back to the CDT jam and Light > Hood.

E: Hood was spectacular. So is First Tube.

I camped for the first time this year, hit up the three SPAC shows and back home for 3 at randall's. Really happy how they're playing now generally, and camping was a real trip. Would do again.

Any word on what NYE is gonna be? Rumors have it at Miami but I'd really dig MSG again.

I was under the impression that some other band tried to book MSG but were told Phish had it locked up for the next however many years.

Basketball schedule just came out; Miami Heat have a home game on the 29th and the Knicks are away 28th - 1st...

That's an interesting development.

The heat have home games on
12/27
12/29
1/4

NY Rangers play MSG on 12/27

That's from phishrumors. So they could the the 28-31 in NYC again or potentially 30-1 in miami. Though that doesn't make as much sense to me.

I'm pretty sure they have it locked up for a number of years at MSG

The year they came out on a flying hot dog to Meatstick was one of the craziest things I've ever seen. If I lived in that region of the country, I'd go to the NYE show ever year.

Also, Halloween probably isn't going to be a cover album but I think we all knew that.

Halloween costume set was the most fun thing they've done in a long, long time. All-round good musically too.

Hello Phish thread!

Having not listened to much 2014 Phish (unable to get out to many shows this year, and PhishOD app/Phishtracks means I've been listening to mostly 1.0 stuff), I threw this jam on for a change of pace and was totally feeling it. The groove at 15:00 is the kind of sound (Plinko I guess?) that transports me into another world, I love it.

Any other good 2014 highlight recommendations?

2014 was a really good year for Chalkdust Torture and Harry Hood, so you could pick any version of those songs without worry. Fuego got a few good rides in early summer. You should probably listen to the Light and Tweezer that followed the version of Chalkdust you linked, if you haven't yet. The third night of the Northerly Island run had a great version of The Wedge.

As far as full shows go, listen to 07/27 at Merriweather for a set that almost seems straight out of 1994, and the Halloween show, which is probably the best all around show of the year, and possibly one of the best shows Phish has done period. (Find a video of the second set, if you can).

Chalkdust was already played night 1 and it showcases the new guitar, was my point.

DWD is obviously the Set II opener tonight, probably DWD>Carini is what I would put my five bucks on if I were at the show with the crew instead of freezing in the Northeast :( :(.
