I'm going to go with the possibly controversial take that Omega should have had Lana's place narratively. Make them the same character.

That way you could have compared and contrasted Loup, who was pretending to be a numan for manipulative reasons, with Omega, who desperately wanted to experience life. (And tying better with the whole robots into new people theme. Add in more aspects of loving being alive, not just romantic love and Robot's religious masochism.)

Yeah, this would've made Lana's death actually have impact and stakes, too. How tragic that a machine built to be an oracle finally escaped its confines somewhat, fell in love, started to experience life to its fullest, and then was immediately killed by hosed up circumstances that, had its predictions come true, never would've existed in the first place.

We've seen Kat talk about using the Omega device as well, so you could say something about Omega secretly talking to Kat and asking for a body of her own, and Kat keeping it secret from everyone so Omega doesn't get found out by the Court.

Oh yeah that would have been a good use for Kat's secret workshop, and her experimenting with sending consciousness back and forth among vessels.

Omega being given a body would have been a good logical bridge between the robots' chips being placed in new humanoid artificial bodies and Kat trying to send her mind into the machines. edit: just checked, never mind, apparently their minds were transferred from the chips into artificial brains? which asks interesting questions about continuity of existence. were they just copies and their original cpu minds erased? is there some ether-magic thing going on that ensures its the same mind moving completely and not a copy? is it the same for the animals and their tokens when they joined the Court?

Also tying up again with the people becoming animals to join the forest and the animals and fairies becoming humans to join the Court. Omega and the new humans would have been like, genuinely free. Obtaining a new body and new mental expansions just for the heck of it, separate from having to have a Court or Forest allegiance.

It's fine.
Don't worry about it.
I think I floated here that it would've been a nice thematic through line if Omega was Tea-san engineering a timeline where the world isn't Third Impact'ed by the Court thinking they can just slingshot off into a non-magical reality. I guess it could still be a setup like that, but ultimately I did get the vibe they were setting up Omega to be a person Annie dialogs at rather than a computer.

Making her look generic like that is a bit of a letdown. If only because this entire Zimmyverse arc has been 90% generic background NPCs we've never cared about or seen before. I guess introducing one more generic-looking NPC to quickly exposit and wrap up another dangling mystery is completely in line with how low-effort and rushed this all is.

Oh that would be so very rad!

Yeah, I'm not sure if this is supposed to like, contrast with the Court students who dyed their hair vivid colors because the ex-animal and ex-fairy students that joined the Court had funky hair colors too.

Honestly none of this is hitting for me because it's been so long since Omega was even mentioned in the comic; there's no buildup here at all. Just...give me some plot, please.

Doesn't help that she's taken the form of a boring-rear end bland numan

yeah, I knew who/what Omega is, but I struggled to remember why it was so important. In a better story, this reveal would fill the reader with surprise or shock, perhaps dread at what this could mean for the characters

As it is, my reaction was, "Oh. It's Omega."

Gonna play tasty.

It would probably have helped if the reveal of what Omega is had been better. Or, heck, hadn't happened at all. Excise that entire conversation, remove that anyone had told Annie what Omega was, and then drop this page. If we didn't know Omega was a really good computer, it was still that enigmatic project the court has been relying on, wow this would be something. But between having that knowledge, and the residual disappointment in how the Omega reveal was just dropped in our laps with no intrigue or work or impact...

I think part of the issue here is power accretion. There's no real way for Annie not to have noticed early that there was something off about her because Ethersight (tm) but it really messed with the ebb and flow of the chapter.

In general a lot of the pacing issues recently seem to be Tom trying to resolve plot threads simultaneously, which is good, but in execution the plot threads end up interfering with rather than complement each other. There should be a kind of "it's all coming together" vibe but it's more of a "they're stamping all over each other" vibe. Which is a shame.

I'm not like other posters
The reason why Omega being a character makes perfect sense is this:

Can you actually picture any of the ostensible main characters doing things or resolving conflicts? Hell no, we’re gonna have some rando dispassionately recount how the matter is dealt with to us.

Come to think of it I can't really think of anything Annie has actually done in the last few chapters. Shadow asked for her help with Robot and then he went and pulled Robot out himself. Why did he even need her? Just to talk to him I guess?

isasphere

Moral support? At least that one makes sense -- long and long ago Robot did call Annie his mother. We haven't heard how he feels about her now, but she probably is still someone important to him?

It would be interesting to do a Garfield minus Garfield with Annie and see if her disappearance affects the plot

This chapter started with Omaga grabbing Shadow and teleporting the group to random places until Annie told her she wanted to "help my friend", then Shadow explains the situation and Omega leads them to Robot.

Annie has a tiny amount of dialogue compared to Shadow and Omega (and especially Robot). Her major contribution during that long soliloquy is telling Robot someone died and how his death wish is a major downer -- which Shadow echoes and then one-ups her by actually doing something

Yeah, I just assumed Omega was a program or machine as opposed to an AI or robot. Seeing Omega once before hand, especially a fairly impactful glimpse, would have given this reveal more oomph. Like this thing we know little about, and what little we do know is that it’s scary powerful, and it was here talking with the other characters the whole time!

Big reveal:

"I am Omega."

Chapter over!

So, do we get a time skip or a jump to different characters now?

Because let's be honest here, with the chapter end, this isn't getting explained on screen.

At some point a recap about what they talked about after the fact, with say, Annie filling Kat or someone in but not really telling us much, or perhaps catching Annie and Omega at the tail end of their conversation.

Whatever it is, chances are all we will know is Annie now knows... something.

Stupid details that probably don't mean anything:

This bonus page appears to be a continuation of the bonus page from the previous chapter (a single wheel in the middle of a black void).

These two bonus pages don't have the chapter end symbol on them, which has been present for the vast majority of bonus pages (it wasn't there for the first three chapters, but has been present ever since until chapter 92).

I got this title for the dumbest fucking possible take on sea shanties. Specifically, I derailed the meme thread because sailors in the 18th century weren't woke enough for me, and you shouldn't sing sea shanties. In fact, don't have any fun ever.
