Been thinking about posting here for a while after lurking for a while. Here's my soundcloud for my electronic project, Wave Collector

I have a lot more on Spotify/Bandcamp, but some faves are up here. Would love to hear what you think!

Probably my favorite track that's up there is this one:

Thanks for listening :)

Great stuff. I love those kinds of sounds. Did you sample striking a glass with a piece of silverware?

Thanks so much! I'm not sure which part you're talking about, but the main sample that comes in at the beginning is a wind chime. There are some other fun samples, like a time stretched machine from an antique store, though honestly I recorded it so long that I don't remember exactly what it is! It's the part that kinda sounds like a typewriter. Also some guitar samples recorded in a friend's studio.

Thanks for listening!

You really want to know?
I like the sound that starts at about 1:54, along with the way the whole mix pulls back a bit there and sounds more open. It's a bit avant garde compared to the rest obviously but when it hits that point I feel like I'm sitting in an actual space hearing the sounds around me, it's cool and pretty unique.

Thank you! I am always happy when something feels unique or interesting. That's the one I mentioned in the earlier comment, I can't actually remember what it is, but it was some kind of mechanical device at an antique store. I used flex time to sync it to the beat. I just wish I could remember what the device was! I recorded a lot of sounds at the same place in one day and some I didn't use for 5+ years.

Ah that’s what it was, yes the wind chime! Sampling stuff is fun, and so redeeming when it sounds nice. I recorded someone’s staple gun from far away, amplified the heck out of it, and got some great drum sounds.

That is always so satisfying! There are amazing kicks, snares, hihats, and toms happening all around us every day

Here's a bunch of stuff I've recorded over the last year or so. Mostly noisy guitar music. Feel like I've been getting less sloppy on the drums lately

Shaking off the rust now that I'm moved into the new place and have my rig mostly all set back up. Think I'm going to try to expand this out into a whole thing, need to get better about that.

It's been awhile. I'm still releasing new tracks on Soundcloud. More art than music. Suno.ai (via Discord) has provided some inspiration lately. Using the "undeclared," or random voice produces surprising results.

D&B really ain't my thing but that's a cool little groove. Wasn't really sure about the atonal type stuff at the start but it settled in nicely.

Thank you. I'm in the super super early stages of learning how to make sounds and put a track together so any positive comments at all mean a lot and are very encouraging.

There's a lot of work to do still to make that an actual track - mastering, punching up sounds, fixing transitions, adding a bit of variation to the drum and background synth loops. Any advice from anyone is appreciated.

KISS ME KRIS

Working on getting a musical project onto major platforms for streaming. The big album drops January 31st. You kids like acid techno? Cuz I fuckin do.

https://on.soundcloud.com/58pAe4YrWqxSyyTK8

I build “sound systems” in VCV rack which are some kinda funny noise makers and a rhythm section with lots of delays and feedback looping. Then I go jam on them and until I get a recording I enjoy(more accurately: when I hit the big stupid record button). The album is a collection of jams I did over the span on 2023. I’m also planning on a livestream series where I revisit some of the systems via YouTube once I get the visuals sorted.

I also do sample based stuff using Koala sampler and beatmaker 3. I’ve even used things like nanoloop and Jeskola Buzz. I’ve been a bedroom rocker for a loooong time.

In September, I decided that I needed to be less scared of the record light, so I started making and uploading synth and guitar improv tracks. I impulse bought an electronic drum set on a boxing day sale, so I've been learning drums and using that on most of the recent ones.

Mostly House/Future Funk mixes with the occasional 'concept' mixes where there's a genre or particular track that I wanted to play and make something work with it. The ones I consider my best are

House - https://soundcloud.com/cbreezyyall/now-thats-what-i-call-lsc-vol-6-glizzy-mcguire

Future Funk - https://soundcloud.com/cbreezyyall/disco-knights-boat-party-mix

And for the out there ones:

My personal favorite - https://soundcloud.com/cbreezyyall/now-thats-what-i-call-lsc-vol-5 (how do I get from 90 bpm to 158 bpm in a natural way)

https://soundcloud.com/cbreezyyall/gossip-girl-the-anime-official-soundtrack (could I make a mix that's mostly indie rock)
