The new Volkor X album is simply stunning. The interstitial dialogues really add an emotional weight to the already epic tracks.

Only 3 tracks in, I'm hearing influence from Ayreon, Devin Townsend and Astronoid. It's dope, I love this stuff. Epic, futuristic wall of sound. It isn't fun cheesy poppy 80s n saxophone synth wave, and that's a good thing.

Chuck in more guest rock vocalists and guitar solos and you got next gen Ayreon.

Fear is the glue that holds society together. It's what makes people suppress their worst impulses. Fear is power.

And at the end of fear, oblivion.

I get magic sword vibes from Gateway. Great album four songs in.

Off the top of my head I would check out:

Deadlife (especially the albums Variations on the Resolve, Orphan, and City of Eternal Rain)
Stilz
Meteor
Daniel Deluxe

And obviously don't sleep on the rest of Volkor X's discography

Beam is an all-time classic

You can hear the voice
Telling you to Love
It's the voice of MK Ultra
And you're doing what it wants
Not 100% sure if this is the thread to post this but I got an email this morning that all of Neon City Records bandcamp discography is 90% off for I don't know how long. That turns into 121 releases for $18 USD. I'm a big fan of Macross 82-99, Yung Bae, and Night Tempo who all have released music on Neon City so even though I already own those releases it was a no brainer to grab the rest of the discography for so cheap.

Pylot and Tyler Lyle combine for a single.

Love the beat, pretty fun. Only complaint is the loss of momentum when the song basically stops a couple times.

had this on my list to listen to all week and finally sitting here listening, it's amazing how far some of the artists in this genre have grown as musicians and songwriters. It really feels like you're on the journey with Captain Sydney (Syd for short come on now)

Yes.
Some parts of that Volkor X album reminded me of Machinae Supremacy's slower material, somehow. A different genre of music obviously, but a similar vibe.
