Please, please don't let me end up in a threesome with the lunch lady and a gay pirate. That would hit a little too close to home.

Bird Up!
I actually really like his entire album Up. It's subdued and often very slow-going, but has a great melodies and is just so darn emotional and introspective. But my real love is for his work with Genesis. Foxtrot is within my top 10 albums of all times, and if I absolutely had to choose one song to listen to upon being executed on death row, it would probably be Supper's Ready. Also because it's long. :shobon:

My God, it's full of cat pictures!

Guess he really couldn't handle modern love at all. Or escalators, apparently.

And while it may not be one of his best songs, Excuse Me may be one of the silliest.

^ ^ ^ Ha ha, yes. The first time I heard Excuse Me, I said "What?!" but liked it. And when I saw the video for Modern Love, I laughed and laughed. These surprises that pop up every once in a while are some of the best things about being a PG fan. ":wtc: ..."

Speaking of that, a few days ago I found out that Peter did some acting in a 10 minute short film called Recon. Makes me wish he'd acted more.

Sea Bee - Not a great song, but an early Genesis demo showing Gabriel already had the voice of a world-weary old man at 17.

That is precious :) I don't know what it is about Peter's voice that's so wonderful. It's not an objectively great voice, but there's just something about it.

I wasn't going to post here again, but I've gotten my first new avatar in about 4 years:

I made some other PG avatars. They're all within the 30kb, 125x125 file limits. Take them if you want them! :)

And for content. here's Peter being even weirder than usual on Italian TV.

I guess it's worth noting that Peter Gabriel's been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, finally. He was already in as part of Genesis, but that's not what we love him for.

For content, Peter has some goofy-lookin' teeth. My favorite teeth in rock. They're crooked and his two front teeth are very big. Once you notice this you can never unsee it since the tips of them always show when he sings. He never got them fixed, either. True Brit :britain:

But the weirdest part is that in the Big Time video, there's this brief shot of a singing mouth:

Those are clearly Peter's teeth. The animators actually took the time to put in that detail for a 2-second shot. Very nice. :golfclap:

I think I'm having a stroke...
I love all of Gabriel's stuff. See my avatar.

And yes, even his recent "world music" stuff, which I'm not a huge fan of but it's still Peter so... yay!

I saw him live at Radio City Music Hall, and it was the happiest moment of my life since I've been obsessed with Genesis/prog rock ever since my dad gave me Security and said, "here, listen to this" in middle school. Before that I listened to Blink 182, The Matrix soundtrack, and crap like that.

That is all. Sorry for gushing a little bit. I don't get to talk about it a lot since most people are like "oh the band that Phil Collins was the head of" when I mentioned Genesis. I silently rage.

My parents listened "Secret World" live a while back growing up. Was my first introduction to Peter Gabriel.

For some reason they were fans of Sting, Yes and The Alan Parsons Project. (my mother had the vinyl of I, Robot)

Took me a while to really appreciate him as a musician, but he is incredible. It's not so much that I seek him out, it's just that it happens his music shows up during random times in my life. Case in point:

"Red Rain". Beautiful song. I was driving back from a job interview that was out of state, feeling really stressed out. I had bronchitis, and had been stuck in traffic for about 2 hours outside of Sandusky after a freak snow storm had hit the day before causing a large amount of pile ups.

For some reason this song was very soothing. I realize it's about Acid Rain/Nuclear Fallout, but it was just had some really amazing other type of qualities to it.

God Bless Peter Gabriel.
