We used to get Australians out here with us for six months at a time in an exchange program. They were all pretty chill dudes who spent most their time figuring out how to get drunk in as little time as possible. We still have a few Dutch Marines here but they aren't near as fun.

The British were a great bunch. The French weren't half bad and got us tanked and gave us a ton of their MRE's. Can never tell with them if they just don't speak English at all or refuse to. I feel bad for the foreign dudes at Camp Wilson. You know they found out they were going to California and were probably all sorts of excited. Little do they know lol

I love the double standard that is held in Japan too. For those that don't know Japan operates on a "liberty card" system, Red and Gold. Red meaning you have to be back on base and accounted for by Midnight and Gold allows for overnight Liberty. Every single marine E5 and below automatically gets a red card, and SNCO/officer get a gold. This is where the double standard comes in, in almost all cases the officers and SNCO's that are the reason Marines are on lock-down in the first place. SNCO drunk driving into a house then beating the owner, officer "rape/sexual assault" - the list goes on and on. Now for those of you saying "why not just apply for a gold card"; you can't. I mean of course you "can" but if you have ever been apart of an infantry command then you know you can't at the same time. gently caress Japan, especially Okinawa.

IIRC Gold cards don't allow you overnight liberty any more and you have to be back on base by 0200 or 0300. If overnight is allowed they probably banned all consumption of alcohol past a certain hour. They banned any consumption of "hard" alcohol by all E-3's and below when I was there, but I just went to the bars that weren't infested with high and tights and drank what the gently caress I wanted. And all of our restrictions started because some goddamn gunny decided to gently caress a 15 year old on Okinawa
