Double posting for this: PlotinusRedux has posted the initial version of his [urk=http://alphacentauri2.info/index.php?topic=14308.0]UI Patch,[/url] which lets you Tab into Windowed mode, enables some enhanced zoom options and some very nice optics, such as showing all resources available to a base and coloring terrain based on aspects like faction ownership and rainfall. It's the first version of the patch and needs some fine tuning still (you need to use ESC to skip the opening movie, for instance), but it's still very impressive.

Fired up the ol' Alpha Centauri and blew through Sparta and Gaia, but when I tried a Morgan Economic Victory game I had to keep restarting. I'm not as good as I remember. All the other factions grab the early Secret Projects first.

Morgan is like the perfect faction IMO. The small pop limit isn't really a big deal, since you can't afford to grow too much bigger early on high difficulty anyway. You can even run Green, which totally shouldn't be allowed, but I guess letting Morgan have Planned would be absurdly broken.
