Special invite: Prince George and his gran the Queen
She's been on the guest list at the world’s biggest ­celebrations, but the Queen is set to join a very special party on Tuesday – Prince George’s first birthday .

William and Kate are throwing a bash for their son at their Kensington Palace apartment and his great gran, 88, is expected to pop in for tea.

Uncle Harry and the Middletons are on the list to attend, along with some of the tot’s godparents.

George will be showered with gifts tomorrow and he already got a huge haul from the public, including blankets, booties and Aston Villa items.

Dad Wills is a Villa fan and his boy looked like he could be on track to run out for the team one day as he showed off his fancy footwork in the first official snap to mark his birthday.

In a picture released today, George is seen tottering around in dungarees at the Natural History Museum.

Snapper John Stillwell said: “He was very lively and sure of himself and confident – a very determined young boy.”

Two more pictures will be released on the big day.

George’s godmother Zara Phillips is expected to go to the prince’s party with husband Mike Tindall, along with his other godparents, Wills and Kate’s good friends Emilia Jardine-Paterson and Oliver Baker.

Most of Kate’s friends have babies so George will have little pals there, but Charles and Camilla will not be scrambling after them on the play mat, as they are in Scotland.

Sources say it is not certain the Queen will attend but that she is keen to celebrate with the tot before she goes to open the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Wednesday.
