It's pretty normal for actors to insist on better hair/makeup/wardrobe as the seasons go on. No one's gonna look good in the baggy, dowdy clothes they had her wear for most of the show.

This was a real thing he actually tried pursuing, by the way. They just did the Grandmaster B thing to make fun of his real life attempts:

oh yeah and seconding that Julia Louis Dreyfus only got hotter the older she got. I saw her in Christmas Vacation (I think that movie is from like 1989) and she was "meh" (I know, :goonsay: ); same as the first few years of Seinfeld. But in the later seasons of Seinfeld and leading up to today...holy moley :allears:

It really is awesome when you see something happen like with Ed O'Neil. It reminds me of Jason Bateman. Had no work for like 10 years then all of a sudden the career is on fire again. It's nice. :unsmith:

That's still not a very valid critique. Comedy requires a straight man, it's a fundamental aspect of how multi-person comedy functions. The red face and the blue face. For every Larry and Curly you need a Moe to yell at them for being stupid. It's the person who stands in for the audience. There's a lot of work involved in being a good straight man.

when a person plays a straight man because thats the limit of their abilities it turns out that person isnt actually funny
take that knowledge and try to watch horrible bosses without wanting to kill bateman more than any of the other actors involved

I spent Horrible Bosses laughing my rear end off at Charlie and Sexual Harassment Jennifer Aniston. I had forgotten that Bateman was even in it, actually, so that may make your point.
