Problem description: I just bought a Lenovo IdeaPad U430. After setting it up and installing Windows Updates, I can't load Google, Facebook, or any page that requires a security certificate. The error I'm receiving is NET_ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID. My date and time are correct. I would note that when I initially set the computer up, the date and time were incorrect. When I try to sync to time.windows.com, I received a timeout error. While Googling, every website just says I need to correct my date and time. When I open forums.somethingawful.com, it says the security certificate expires in -481 days. I receive similar errors in IE 10, so it's not a Chrome issue. Incidentally, my XBox Live is no longer working, and it states that it can't obtain an IP address from my router or modem. Are these issues possibly related? Attempted fixes: I changed my settings to sync to pool.ntp.org. Recent changes: It's a brand new computer. -- Operating system: Windows 8.1 System specs: Lenovo IdeaPad U430 Touch. Have you power-cycled the modem and router yet? If not, unplug the power from each for a good 10-count, then power them back on, modem first, then router.
