in retrospect the old redtext was a little over the top, I think I was in a bad mood that day. it appears you've learned your lesson about slagging our gods and masters at beamdog but I'm still going to leave this av up because i think its funny

god bless
EDIT: Sorry, I'm a panicky idiot and posted this in the wrong forum. Will take this to the Haus of Tech Support. Mods feel free to delete this thread. Text is below anyway.

This morning I found out that a tandem story/RPG forum that I've been a member of for years went down, apparently for good. According to the site admin:

"On Sunday night, the disk that hosted our forums as well as the rest of nerdramblings.com experienced a total data corruption. Everything was lost. The host has informed us that nothing was able to be recovered. I have been making regular backups, but after sifting through them, I have discovered that the SQL database that contained all of the actual posts was not in the same directory as the rest of the forum. Therefore, all posts from the creation of the Administorum 2.0 until now have been lost."

I MAY have a really old manual backup of this site - possibly - but that's a stretch and even then it would be missing months worth of posts.

I'm particularly interested in recovering as much as possible from the threads that were in http://nerdramblingz.com/starforums/index.php?board=19.0 and http://nerdramblingz.com/starforums/index.php?board=13.0 (unfortunately I don't know the exact URL of the threads that were in those locations). I've tried a few recovery services but they don't have anything useful yet - though I'm still trying.

You can view a cached version here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...n&ct=clnk&gl=nz
And here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...n&ct=clnk&gl=nz

But I can't seem to view cached versions of any of the posts themselves.

I did however view the site fairly regularly - is there some way to recover its content/rebuild pages from the cache/temporary internet files on my home PC?

I realize it might be fruitless but any advice would be appreciated.
