I was driving this afternoon and the major interstates in my city had signs saying "Halloween, expect delays 1-6pm on all freeways." Halloween is stupid and if you're over the age of like twelve it should be a non-event for you

Kids don't even trick or treat anymore, kind of like how they don't go outside in general anymore. I lived in the same house for about two decades and kept track of how many trick or treaters I got each year so I knew how much candy to buy. In the time I lived there the population went from around 5,000 to over 50,000 and I got under 30 trick or treaters the last year I lived there. This is GBS so I don't even need to say that I ate all the leftover candy. Edit: I also saw a neckbearded man in his 40's come into my store today wearing an Avatar: The Last Airbender costume. it's a combo of halloween being on a week night for the last 5-6 years or some poo poo (it's been a while since it was a friday afaik), and parents being bitchmade nowadays even though no one has ever gotten intentionally poisoned from halloween candy (except like inside jobs of family members hating a kid in their family or something) everyone is all freaked out about dumb bullshit like apples with blades in them (another thing that has never happened)

I somehow have the night off (atypical for a Friday) and live in an apartment. Doubt there will be any trick or treaters but gently caress you if you think I'm buying you candy, you will be ignored as I will be drunk in my room watching Netflix and/or porn.

Carved a pumpkin, got some candy. Not sure if people trick or treat here, but we're set if they do. I thought it was an awesome thing to do when I was a kid, and as an adult I've got a responsibility to make it as awesome for the next generation.
