My grandmother just had knee surgery so she's pretty much bedbound and my grandfather has no idea has no idea how to cook anything other than bacon and eggs so I visit them twice a week or so and cook a big batch of cous cous or carbonnade or roast a couple chickens or something so they aren't stuck eating crappy microwave food every day. Also do yardwork and such for them and fix up things around their house. It's really nice actually. They're in their 80s but beside general old people stuff still kickin' it mentally. It's great to sit down with them at a nice lunch or dinner and just talk. Their lives, your life, stories of friends and family, etc. Everybody really should try to spend as much time with their grandparents as they can 'cause they ain't stickin' around forever.

My grandma died two weeks ago and I'm going to her funeral this Friday. Also my grandfather on my mother's side was a hit-and-run baby maker so I've never met him and my grandpa on my dad's side was wife and child abuser with 4 wives/girlfriends who died before I was born
