I don't think that the leader of a movement needs to be involved in the actual fighting (it can help sometimes) but Boudicca did raise an army against the Romans and was instrumental in its executionMegaGatts posted:Then give us a historical fight with her in it. Like boudicca vs. Sonni Ali. I'll give it to the lady on this one. She got her hands dirty Sonni Ali was p much a decadent murderous poof. this is basically the equivalent of "my dad can beat up your dad"

another cool anecdote- there's a common story about how alexander the great wept because there were no more worlds to conquer when he was forced to turn back at the indus, but the actual quote from plutarch is this: Alexander wept when he heard Anaxarchus discourse about an infinite number of worlds, and when his friends inquired what ailed him, "Is it not worthy of tears," he said, "that, when the number of worlds is infinite, we have not yet become lords of a single one?"

One of history's great pointless violent mental cases. Romans are scumbags, but at least they created a functioning empire that lasted more than ten years.

When Julius Caesar landed at Adrumetum in Africa, he tripped and fell on his face. This would have been considered a fatal omen by his army, but with admirable presence of mind he exclaimed, "Thus I take possession of thee, O Africa." this summer, michael cera IS: julius caesar
