This is what happens when you disrespect Cam Neely
Stars really had a pretty strong month of December, over 12 games they had a 53.77% corsi ratio at 5 on 5 even strength, which would put them 3rd in the league if they had done that all season long. Not surprisingly they won 8 of the 12 games, could have had a couple more than that, and if anything the team got stronger as the month moved along.

Another good month will put them back in playoff contention, here's hoping that they pull another 8 seed out because the playoffs are a lot more fun for everyone when there are more teams in it that don't play boring defense first trap hockey.

The black hole was busy enveloping Anaheim's defense tonight. :v:

(gently caress the Ducks, shutting them out will never not rule)

Joe Thornton got hurt in a collision with noted pylon Clayton Stoner. The Sharks say he won't be out for long, which is somewhat likely because the man is built like tank, but that's what they said about Raffi Torres during training camp.

Happy new year sas! Both my ahl and nhl pens won tonight so my year ended well. Now on Friday I get a double header hockey game with the wbs pens then a high school game afterwards. Should be a fun night. Never actually watched a local high school game.

anyway gently caress the Ducks. That was like the only shutout I've ever seen Nemo get where I felt like he was actually the primary factor in making it happen. Well that and Maroon lololol

I don't really care who, I'm just bored of this av and I want to see Getzlaf throwing a fit every time I post now.

I would just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone here that the last time the Flyers won a shootout was on 30 December 2013. That's right, the Flyers went an entire loving calendar year without winning a loving shootout.

This is extra odd because when you imagine teams who would do well in the shootout you think about high offense, top heavy teams and Philly doesn't do a lot great but they have up front offense.

Bit late, but Larsson only plays 13-14 minutes a game. Severson owns. Salvador on the other hand....

Where do you guys find all these fancy stats and graphs anyway? Is there a list of good sites to visit somewhere?

Yes that's all good and well, but I'm not going to trawl the entirety of twitter to find hockey fancy stats. Who supplies the tweets?

My first question, too. He wrote a thing about it here, with the short answer being that the adjustments are an attempt to account for usage and expected results, similar to angry math teacher Steve Burtch's delta-corsi.
