Maybe it's one of those things you hope for. Like, if you're saddled with an extra chromosome you should get to experience ignorant bliss for the totality of your life. Like, I guess drowning to death is supposed to be peaceful, but I'd imagine a sort of tacit understanding you're dead and the fear, however addled from oxygen deprivation, that lies therein.
