lol @ the cavemans who installs an extension to block flash instead of using the 'click-to-play plugins' already installed in FF since version 14 http://dottech.org/99969/how-to-enable-click-to-play-firefox-chrome-opera-internet-explorer-tip-guide/ Im really glad youtube finally ditched flash over html5, adobe's reign of terror is loving over. uBlock seems to be a nice alternative to ABP: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/%C2%B5Block-vs.-ABP:-efficiency-compared

I decided to give it a shot back when I was first watching Lost and the ads were the only god damned thing that worked right. The ps3 client for Hulu was garbage anyway, but the ads were just icing on the cake.

I subscribed to Hulu because they had every SNL episode ever (which makes sense considering Hulu is owned by NBC) and man do I love the late 80s to late 90s SNL which have never been put out on DVD and aren't available anywhere online; couldn't wait to watch them all. Imagine how pleased I was to see they chopped 1:30:00 episodes down to 0:23:00. Only missing an hour and 7 minutes per episode! Awesome!!

µBlock is better for both browsers, much smaller footprint and mem usage per tab.

if you go to so many websites that no script is a pain and taking too much time, perhaps it's because you are a 13 year old girl. adults don't need to go to 100 new sites per day

Is there any way to block hulu ads? I'd much rather see a "Our ads can't load!" banner for 30 seconds. Just realized my wife is the only one that watches Hulu but I'm tired of hearing the ads.

gary oldmans diary posted:lol at noscript taking a lot of time I know you're right, and I've never used noscript, but I mean I'd rather Adblock which comes with its own banks of blocked things, and if you don't want to see something that isn't in the bank of blocked ads, just add it there yourself. It's just going to be less of a hassle anyways, and even before adding personal blocked elements, it's got pretty good databases on its own.

Don't know why rooting your android phone is a big deal, since I'm guessing anyone savvy enough to know about adblock (and other related addons) would already have rooted or would know how/know how to find out how to do so.

Is there something that blocks those pop up overlays that ask you for your email address? I don't understand what the deal is, they invented RSS because it was better than email spam, and then they invented those facebook buttons because people didn't understand how to use RSS, and now they're back to email spam
