Problem description: like the title says my laptop instantly shut down while i was using it out of the blue and now it throttles when under load even if it's not overheating.

Attempted fixes: i've tried rebooting but other than that i have no idea what to do, i'm completely lost here.

Recent changes: not that i can think of

this is the gpu with msi kombustor running

this is the gpu at idle

cpu with prime95

cpu at idle

as you can see the cpu throttles itself even though it hasn't hit 100C the thermal limit where it starts throttling.

Thermal Status LOG means that it crossed some threshold and wanted to lower it.

Is this happening whether or not the laptop is plugged into a power source?

i just tried prime 95 with it unplugged on high power mode and it works the way it should. edit: yea it seems to only be happening while plugged in to the power

i tried the different default tests of prime 95 and when you start the blend test it throttles to 800mhz for a split second but then turbos up to 2.8 ghz and stays around that frequency but if i do the in-place large ffts test it constantly throttles to 800 mhz and with the small ffts test it does this weird cycle of throttling and turboing up to 2.4-2.8 ghz (this is all while plugged in it works fine on battery)

edit: just tested again on both battery and plugged in and now it's throttling on both on all tests?
