What is a Twitch or a Hitbox?
I'm glad you asked. Twitch and Hitbox are streaming sites where an increasing number of people are watching other people play video games. It sounds dumb at first but there are a couple of reasons why it can be quite an enjoyable experience.
For one you can interact with (and in most cases see) the people streaming and you can ask them questions about the games they are playing and the particular strategies they are using or you can just call them big dumb nerds and move on with your day.
There is also a great sense of community about it. You can find and connect with other people who enjoy even the most obscure of games simply by hanging out and watching others play!

How do I become a streamer myself?
If you want to get started streaming things yourself head on over to the streaming thread in Let's Play. They have a bunch of resources to aid you in all aspects of streaming.

But if there is already a thread in Let's Play why make this one?
Well the only traffic that passes through the LP forums are people who mainly play or enjoy LPs and there are a quite a large number of people whose streams are not really considered LPs because they exclusively play MMOs, MOBA etc and even though the LP thread is welcoming to those people there is not a lot of interest shown for things that are not LPs because of the nature of the forum. Secondly this thread is also about recommending streams that may not be your own but you think other goons would enjoy. I have absolutely no beef with the thread in LP, they are awesome people over there and if you are interested in LPing even just a little bit you should go check it out. Also any goon streamers that currently use that thread are more than welcome here as well. I want to expand the community to reach as many people as possible, not compete with it.

Below is a list of goon approved streams. Obviously these lists will be quite bare for the time being but as we get more recommendations things will soon fill out!

MMOs
http://www.twitch.tv/abdoutoobeasty - Mainly World of Warcraft, chill dude with a chill following.
http://www.twitch.tv/kinulii - Also World of Warcraft but dabbles in Hearthstone and League of Legends from time to time too. Friendly as hell.
http://www.twitch.tv/sodapoppin - GW2, WoW, H1Z1, DayZ. Pretty huge streamer and you can see why. Crazy community too.
http://www.twitch.tv/tapdatmouse - Pretty much exclusively Guild Wars 2.
http://www.twitch.tv/jamalbutterworth - ARMA 2/3 Life Mods. Awesome guy and incredibly entertaining stream.
http://www.twitch.tv/daftbasterd - ARMA 3 Life Mods, H1Z1. Another hilarious guy.
http://www.twitch.tv/charliewinsmore - H1Z1. The king of roleplaying. Used to be an amazingly funny second life troll.

MOBAS
http://www.twitch.tv/sirhcez - League of Legends. Nicest dude ever and a really solid player, chill music too.
http://www.twitch.tv/lolgeranimo - League of Legends. Really good with ADC's and is happy to give tips. Great stream for people learning the game.
http://www.twitch.tv/imaqtpie - League of Legends. Former pro and super chill. His community is batshit crazy too.
http://www.twitch.tv/saltyteemo - Recording footage from the lowest ranked League games that you can bet fake money on. Lots of fun.
http://www.twitch.tv/bone7 - DOTA 2. Pro player, nice dude and great to learn from.

CARD GAMES
http://www.twitch.tv/trumpsc - Hearthstone. Pro player, modest and generally nice guy. Unfortunately usually has subscriber only chat.
http://www.twitch.tv/guardsmanbob - Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm. Great player and explains everything he's doing. Chill stream.

VARIETY STREAMERS
http://www.twitch.tv/lirik - Plays pretty much all new AAA games and a lot of indies too.
http://www.twitch.tv/lethalfrag - The king of indie games. Super nice guy and very involved in his community.
http://www.twitch.tv/cohhcarnage - A lot of H1Z1 lately because it's a slow month for game releases but does play a bunch of new stuff.
http://www.twitch.tv/miss_jamball/ - A channel shared by Beagle and his girlfriend, they play a variety of games but the main event is always XCOM, specifically the Long War mod on Ironman Impossible. He streams XCOM on Tuesdays at 1PM EST, and Thursdays at 8PM EST. He's seriously really loving good at the game and generally a hilarious guy. His Thursday campaign is long running and the beginning VODs are long removed from Twitch, but the Tuesday campaign is new and can still be watched from the beginning.
http://www.twitch.tv/kevinddr - TETRIS TETRIS TETRIS!

All these lists are a work in progress so feel free to recommend your own stream or your favorite streamers with a short summary of what they play and their general stream atmosphere and I will add them all to the OP when I can.
There are also a large number of goon streamers I currently follow but I feel it would be rude to include them without asking them first so I will wait for them to post their channels here and I will add them to the applicable list with a bolded GOON tag. Also feel free to bump the thread whenever you start broadcasting but please make sure to include what you will be playing!

Jumpjet, melta, jumpjet. Repeat for ten minutes or until victory is assured.
Never heard of Hitbox before. How is it different from Twitch?

It's a relatively new platform really and honestly apart from the layout the only real difference is that Hitbox has much less of a stream delay than Twitch.

Is there any tips to modify the audio levels in great detail in OBS? I was just streaming but having troubles having my Mic gain up; I have a real set up also so it's kinda frustrating.

Ah streaming. It's like LPing, just there's no point where you can finish the game and go back to having a real life.

DAIJOUBU!! ... Daijoubu ?? ?
Also, though it's still relatively new, I'd probably throw a shout-out/recommendation to instagib (http://instagib.tv/). Doesn't really have the same population as twitch, but it's got pretty minimal viewer lag and it's free/ad-free; which are both benefits on the viewer end.
