Got a strong Human Fighter of TSO with five runes and staring down the barrel of Tomb, Pan, and the Hells. Should I brand my +9 eveningstar of flame, or grab this +4 demon whip, use my two enchant weapon on it, and use a +6 sacred scourge? The eveningstar has more base damage but the scourge gets almost half again as many attacks.

Edit: I have Str 25 Dex 14 though I'm not sure how much difference that makes. The eveningstar is weighted way more strongly for strength.

We tend to recommend base damage > all (it has an easier time penetrating AC of enemies) but you aren't going to be hugely penalized for going scourge over eveningstar. Do what you want, whether that's being 'optimal' or taking a more flavourful route.

Scourge is definitely better than eveningstar despite the lower base damage (demon whips are often better but not always).

The other reason to bless the dwhip is that you will have a backup weapon for non-unholies - you can't use the demon whip with TSO if you bless the eveningstar.

Well I know I can play but I wanted my games to be registered under a clan. I've never actually played in a tournament before so I might be confusing some of the details.

I would probably prefer the eveningstar but it doesn't actually matter which you pick, they're both more than good enough
