Weird. I was thinking about something like this today - I wouldn't want Hitler to be back at all, I hope if someone went back they would kill him sooner than he died (maybe he would become a martyr and the war would be worse?), but then I think 'I fit the description of Aryan, so I would probably be well off either way'.

Given the political situation in Europe war was always inevitable. Hitler was a godsend to the point I wonder if a time traveler from a ravaged future went back to put Hitler in power. Hitler pulled the trigger on war war too early and then caused Germany and the Soviets to waste thier strength on each other. Here is how history originally happened before time traveler's manipulated a failed art student into becoming leader of Germany. A. Germany starts the war in the mid to late 40's and does not attack Russia. Stalin remains complacent as he believes in the non aggression pact and is happy with his half of Poland. Germany has built a decent navy and is able to take western Europe and Britain while defending the coast from a d day style invasion. Nazis didnt gain a bad rap until later so the Nazi party in America has more power and delays entry into the war. By the 50's the Nazis have settled into a fortress Europe situation and they have nukes. The Soviets and Americans build nukes and the world ends shortly thereafter. Or B. Germany never comes out of the depression. The Soviets steamroll Europe as the Nazis were thier only serious competition. World ends shortly thereafter.
