Sometimes movies aren't about the most exciting and astounding events happening at as fast a rate as possible. I think in Taxi Driver people hear it is a grim and violent movie and don't expect that this stuff comes towards the end when it is all built up and it is at that point in the story. Can't you just sit down and shut up and watch a story or do you have to get back to the internet immediately? I know I'm talking to myself. Taxi Driver is good, though.

taxi driver is pretty good movie to understand the thought process that goes into lone gunmen / christopher dorner / terrorist types falling down is kind of a bleh movie

One of the reasons Taxi Driver is great is because it's a glimpse at classic, gritty, 70s NYC. Before it was sterilized and gentrified and Wall Street-ified into how it is now.

Came for the sociopathy, stayed for the streetscapes....they're all I see and they are mesmerising. I liked Easy Andy too. Helpful guy.

When I was working as an orderly in the 'hatch, a doctor warned me "you can't know the insane, and it is hazardous to try." I kinda identified with Travis Bickle, I could understand his worldview. I suppose this is a bad sign-but sanity is soooo boring. you can't know the sane either, from my experience. This flick also has an awesome soundtrack. An Oscar for it as i recall. one of my all-time favorites, along with FD. DFENSE!!!
