So I'm trying to remember the name of this song, and I'll try my best to describe it. It sounds like some super funky 60s-70s booker T or young holt type jams and it's very up-tempo. It starts with a shorty version of the "Amen Break" for about five seconds. Then the brass and maybe like xylophone kick in for a few measures with some brass fillers. Then everything but the drums doin' the "Amen Break" drops out for like a measure. This is when the song gets good, some crazy jazzy synth organ and piano explodes into the song all like "dun-dun-dun-dun-dun dun-dun-dun dun-dun-dun-duuuuuun dun-dun-dun-dun-dun dun-dun-dun dun-dun-dun-duuuuuun, duh nuh nuh nuh nuh" for like 2 or 3 measures. Then comes like a super funky wah wah guitar solo with the drums still goin' hard. Then back to the funky brass, xylophone and bass. This basically repeats a few times until the song is over. Any guesses?

It sounds similar to this song but it's a lot more upbeat and has more brass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oGV98M90dE This one is on the level with it too but not quite there yet. Not quite as mellow as this one. More organ and less brass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx-tUk3nchA Edit: Amen Break in case you were wondering. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxZuq57_bYM IllCamino fucked around with this message at 07:53 on Jun 8, 2015 |
