Disclaimer- I probably should've made this thread in February. I didn't think about it at the time. But I'll do it now in case anybody's a racing fan that may lurk in threads and/or may be just looking for a new Fantasy challenge to try or experiment with for full season good times later. SAS has two Fantasy Auto Racing leagues, one for NASCAR and one for IndyCar. Details on how to play and login information are available below. NASCAR (SASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Yahoo) http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto/ SAS' official NASCAR fantasy league is the SASCAR Sprint Cup Series, residing on Yahoo Fantasy. As of the writing of this OP, there are 12 spots left. (This is NOT NASCAR Bingo. For that, go to the thread in SAS.) Group: 6935 PW: SAS Format: There's no draft- all drivers are available to players each week, but each driver can only be started nine (9) times per season. Drivers are grouped into three "lists": A (top drivers), B (mid-pack and some higher tier backmarkers), and C (Danica Patrick, also-rans, and one-off/rookies). Each week, one starter and one bench driver will be chosen from the A and C lists, while two of each will come from the B list. Points are awarded for finishing position, with bonus points for qualifying in the Top 4 and for laps led. Bench drivers aren't totally useless, gaining bonus points if they qualify in the Top 4. Drivers for each week must be chosen by (I believe) 5AM Friday morning. Your starting lineup must be set by the time of the green flag. Schedule: The season is broken into three segments: Spring, Summer, and Playoffs (The CHASE ). The lowest score from each segment of the season is dropped, called the Lucky Dog rule. There are winners for each segment, as well as the overall season. We haven't done prizes in a while, but Some Random rear end in a top hat hooked the top three up with race-used sheet metal one year. Stat sorting criteria: This Season/Last Season/Last Month- Performance stats on all tracks in those periods. This Race- Spring/Fall race on each track. (Some tracks only have one race a year. Most have two, often referred to as "Spring" and "Fall" despite the calendar month in which they fall. (Both Pocono races take place in what we'd consider "Summer" months, June and July.) This Track- Track performance in the last five years' worth of races. Non-self-explanatory stat categories: -Races- Number of races this season or races run in the last 10 races on this track -Poles- First place starting positions. -Best- Best finish this season/on this track in the last 10 races) #IndyRivals Fantasy Challenge (Formula Juan and Derps, IndyCar.com) http://fantasy.indycar.com/leagues/join New to SAS this year is the IndyCar Series' official Fantasy game. There are 18 players registered but only half remember to play regularly. PW: LLJK Unlike the NASCAR game, this is a spending-based system. You have $100 to spend on four drivers for each race. There's no limit to the number of times you can use each driver, but their dollar values will increase or decrease depending on their performance. Stat information is limited to Wins, Top 5s, and Top 10s. This league also uses a tiebreaker system based upon your guess of the average speed of each race. Sage Karam sucks, do not pick him.
