I’ve been charged with finding a suitable workaround for the clusterfuck that is our organisiation’s execs’ contact-list issues – as follows: - We run a standard exchange service; all users can create their own contact lists in addition to being able to access the global address list - Execs all seem to (also) have a mix of iCloud and Google contacts, which – while it’s policy that all org business correspondence goes through our exchange services – sees them having lists of contacts in some sources but not in others. - The same execs make equal use of mobile devices and their desktops/laptops, so the solution they’re looking for is platform independent The underlying issue is contact duplication/redundancy and just a general lack of consolidation. From preliminary googling, it looks like the first steps forward should be something like: - Creating a definitive list of contacts - Create backups of existing contacts on all services (i.e. exchange/icloud/google), and then delete all entries in all services - Import the definitive list to each service, and then choose one of the services (not sure which one) as the chosen single source, and force all further updates into that list - Update other lists via export/import on a regular basis The above is all horribly manual; any suggestions on improvements/replacements?
