I'm going to have to suggest an LQ9 powered Honda Street.

Just use long travel ATV suspension parts, there's no shortage of performance stuff available and the wheel track is likely about the same.

Most people ain't that smart. :v: I'd agree it's a slightly nicer looking car but :effort: outweighs that for me.

OP, look up tractor pull tractors with like 4 giant V8 engines and make it work in a street car.

I based my search on the fact that in Ontario we don't have to do emissions testing on vehicles made before 1988, not sure what the rules are in Alberta.

There's full aftermarket support for plopping the 1/2j and 1uz motors in these so it's an option if you feel like having the fastest boudoir in Alberta.

Yeah, totally forgot about the RX8, and there are tons of them out there with blown motors because people don't know how to take care of them and the warranties are pretty much all done and a new motor is gonna cost way more than it's worth. Ripe for the picking.

Gigahorse drivetrain in either a stretched miata or RX8. If 1000bhp is a reasonable reliable output for an FI LS the obvious thing to do is have 2.

At the very least grab a Cummins 6 cylinder and go to town in the same fashion on the engine. Drop that into something old that originally came with a /6 or a go newer and replace the factory 2JZ?

ftfy. The Roadmaster is only 10" taller than a Detroit 60 without a jake. Factor in ground clearance and you're cutting a very big hole in the roof. And you're gonna want that jake if only for the noise.

I think im going to do a turbo LS1 rx8 swap. And keep it as sleeper looking as possible. Ported stock heads, custom grind cam, good flowing intake, and then tune the boost curve so that it's just at the point of being terrifying while still being able to get the power to the ground.

Seems like you could lighten that truck up a lot by swapping that 468 for a mildly built LSx and still make 400 RWHP.

Also, figure out how to get it street legal.

Alberta U-built laws are very lenient on replicas...so if you're not married to that body...make it look like something built from the 20's/30's and register it as a replica.

So out of left field I came across a cheap Kawasaki Teryx (NRA EDITION!!!!) With worked over cylinder heads, big bore kit, 10 hours on a fresh rebuild of the motor, cams etc.

All the motor and drivetrain work has been done to it. I'm going to look at it in a couple hours. I think I'll chop out the factory cage, lower the seats down and back, rebend a new cage that will take a rollover without damage and look better with a sloped lower roofline, and do a long travel industries 12" increase in width (+6" per side a-arm) giving around 15" of wheel travel.

I am not good enough at welding to trust it to a rollcage so I will likely get help with the cutting and bending and welding of the cage. There are a few different offroad race events and endurance events in western Canada that I would like to attend, just for fun. I would assume it makes around 70-75hp at the wheels, through a CVT. There are turbo kits and also conversion kits for Yamaha R1 motors if I ever need more power. (ignoring class limits)

Other than cage and suspension I'll likely set up a parker fresh air breather for 2 helmets. Positive air pressure keeps dust out. I'll do 4 point harnesses, a second battery and a spare tire carrier integrated into the cage. This wont be a full out Desert race build, but I plan on bringing it down to Glamis California with some paddle tires as I have some friends in Vancouver who make the trip every few months.

This is kinda what the finished product will be like, except for extra gear carrying capability.

And so it begins. New project.

First order of business is getting the dual carbs all tuned up. Going to book some dyno time as it's running rich wide open and lean mid throttle. Then the suspension and bed are getting scrapped, new long travel suspension, axles, and a cage is getting fabbed up.
