Kewpuh: Oct 22, 2003; when i dip you dip we dip

i gave it a shot. i figured maybe enough insults could push derek smart into 6h probation slinging meltdown or maybe he'd post a bunch of overly insane poo poo in defense of his games or whatever but i guess it wasnt meant to be. i guess really the only funny thing that came out of this was that he kept hitting the "stick thread" purchase link at the very top of the page when trying to sticky his threads which confused me for a bit but you guys didnt even get to see that. shoutouts to a starwar betamax for good effort sassing but unfortunately nothing really came of it. i think derek queued up a 3 day probation for him but ralp declined it so unfortunately thats the only part of his ik powers that he used aside from stickying a couple threads.

I have a second Star Citizen article coming tomorrow, and Kotaku and other places are going to carry it. Because
of its content, I had a private Facebook thread with some of our industry people, to try and get them to talk
Chris (Star Citizen) to the right thing before this gets worse.

Some idiot friend-of-friend, screen capped the 5 page thread. Though it doesn�t contain anything that�s
not already going to be out tomorrow, it was private (as you can see from the settings in the top-left of
each image), not public. And though SA is pretty lax, we really shouldn�t encourage that sort of thing there.
It�s not 4chan, 8chan or the like � and that�s why I come there from time to time for so many years. It�s usually
a lot of unbridled bullshit, but very rarely do they cross the line into this territory, and we shouldn�t encourage
that.

Anyway, below are the threads. Infinitum first posted it, then some others quoted it. I have also contacted
imgur to have the images removed.

since i cant really be around all the time i was thinking about maybe making a subforum of Games that i could move the star citizen thread to and then whatever other threads relevant to you and have you just moderate it yourself in case people post dumb lovely things and then you can just take care of editing posts or probating people yourself

also if you have any questions or problems or anything let me know. you should have every capability like editing posts or stickying threads, using the forbidden tags, queuing up probations or whatever, etc. you will see the new bar at the bottom of every post.

another thing you might have missed is that there is an edit button under every single post. that way you can edit out posts or whatever that that are illegal or not work safe, etc. also, 6 hour probations are instant, they do not require admin approval. these are typically the best tools to get rid of someone that is being particular toxic. longer probations than 6 hours go into a queue that gets hit by admins a while after theyve been queued up so we usually don't really use them since 6 hour probations work better and faster

ah okay. just know that you have free reign to hit anyone in there with probations (probably not admins or other mods though) so if someone is particularly annoying then a 6h probation works wonders for getting someone the hell out of there for a while.
