the width of a monitor is generally larger than the height, why wouldn't you put the task bar on the side? And since I'm a GNU/Linux user I make it so the taskbar only occupies half the length and auto-hides so it only shows up if I deliberately move my cursor to the left and down, the less used portion of my screen, such is the life of a Linux user

BangersInMyKnickers posted:run powercfg /energy /output c:\energy.html it should tell you what its loving power management up. probably garabge video card drivers, but lots of software could cause that I finally got around to actually debugging this stupid screensaver issue before my monitor backlights burn out and while that is a nifty command, it didn't help http://www.windows10forums.com/threads/none-work-screen-saver-lock-screen-ss-turn-off-display-after-5-mins.1622/ This did though, turns out there's a bug in the generic HID USB game controller driver that prevents display sleep for certain game controllers that used to work fine before windows 10. Disabling the device fixes it. Satya
