America is certainly a gently caress ton better off than a ton of other countries. gently caress we have states that are the size of other countries. Don't like a place? Just move to another state and it's an entirely different environment and you don't even need dual citizenship.

But when the team of chinese factory workers put together the various circuit boards that make up a computer or a phone or whatever, its not wealth until marketing and design and branding get involved..just a hunk of silicon. The best we can probably do is employee owned companies, and I am not even sure how well those work. Basically the wealth gets created and increased in the modern industrial process, it's not innate from the start, just waiting for the loving touch of hordes of plebes. It has to get massaged into existence through various steps. Someone has to be the fall guy for the wealth to exist at all. Basically slave labor is good, if you want quality products. Propose another way. You can't have it both ways. It's iphone+servtitude or lesser product+some level of obligatory worker emancipation. Because someone has to create the value, labor doesn't create value by default. The way out is to cut the connection between labor and reward, which no one here has proposed yet, and I am not sure how it would be specifically possible. Cause i dont care about the revolution

Hinduism had it right when they tried to get the poorest of wretched poors to be content with their existence. "It is your fate", they say. "Now clean my latrine, maggot". And all was right in the world

When the miner finds a raw diamond in the mine and brings it back up, it's not wealth yet. Someone has to cut it, and then someone has to market and sell it. The price increases astronomically at every step. Basically "the workers are entitled to the wealth they create" is at best inaccurate and at worst impossible. Why should the gemcutter cut at all if the miner gets 50% or more of his potential proceeds. He knows the value he adds to the useless rock. Jeez i feel like milton friedman up in here. But its like, no one has heard this poo poo before??

i hope i didn't miss this but did he admit that moderating capitalism will never work and if we're going to be idealists we might as well just imagine a new system that works in theory but not in practice too? what im asking for is some good communist literature, who's the most enjoyable and direct of them all? should i start reading some leon trotsky or did that guy get killed with an ice pick because his books sucked big time?

Value is imagined in the boardroom, manifests in middle management and is enacted by the peons. When the peons annex the boardroom, value mysteriously evaporates. Basically CEOs aren't being paid enough.

This article is relevant, although half of it is useless jargon. Or im just stupid http://www.theguardian.com/books/2015/jul/17/postcapitalism-end-of-capitalism-begun Anyway Marx was a very smart man, I never said he wasn't. But if you take the popular conception of his ideas and run with them, you'll end up dead in a ditch intellectually speaking. There i have used my post quota for this thread

Jokes on you, op. Go ahead, seize all the capital. Anything that requires human labor will be outmoded in another 5 years. Forward thinking captains of industry are already investing in semi autonomous machines and programs that will render the flaw prone human worker obsolete. Your revolution is too late. Enjoy being the best buggy whip maker of the space age.
