So, saw the double feature.. Alamo has some cool Sony 4K technology! Of the two I liked the first one, Ginga better.. it was more of a homage show though. The idea of X being all cutesy by talking to the characters in the form of an app kinda grew on me. But geez, the voice dubbing seemed to be fairly terrible, almost as bad as when Funimation tried to bring Tiga to Fox Kids.. and what the hell is a cotton candy beam supposed to do to a monster, debilitate him by giving him diabetes? One thing I will say.. if the Ultraman genre ever wants to get any more popular in the US, they need to market Zero with a good dubber; he is the common link between both the movies in the form of a WWF style douchebag that US audiences will identify with, and he chews up the scenery just with his wrestling swagger. The other Ultramen that appear in Ginga are just.. there. At least we get to see them go through all their forms. Lastly, I wish all theaters adopted Alamo's no cell phone use and no bothering other ticket holders rules, it definitely helped cut down on the dickheads trying to do MST3K style riffs..
