State level stuff it depends on what the laws are in that state. For House and Senate you can run and even be elected but they can vote to have you expelled if you are deemed 'unfit to serve', which being a felon would be a solid start in that direction. Even if that Alaskan Senator convicted of corruption wins again they'll probably vote to kick him.

I really don't get why people think Trump will be anywhere near the nomination seat. The people towards the front of the polls right now will be nowhere near it in the end. The frontrunners a year out always take all the flak and bullets so the rest of the snakes can slink through the bushes unnoticed.
