Does anyone remember the Ultimate Video Rumble from 1994 to 1996? Written by Chris "Birdman" Bird, Bob "Boobwod" Wood, and Brant Rogers, basically, it was a huge free-for-all in the ring of everyone's favorite fighting game characters, and the audience would vote in who should win / participate. To set the scene: quote:The arena was packed. Over eighty thousand packed this electronic reenactment of Toronto's Skydome. Visible in the crowd were fighters from other nodes, which had not made the cut. The Bloodstormers were busily hacking up the fighters from Power Instinct, who were saying "Oh, no, not again..." The Primal Rage Zoo was a popular attraction among the younger set. White Karate Master toured and waved happily to the crowd. Red Karate Master looked at him from a distance scornfully. In the autograph booths, the likes of Chain, Eagle, and Mr. Big signed busily. Some action as Jetta from Eternal Champions enters the ring and fights Earthquake from Samurai Showdown 2 and Orion from Time Killers has a bad time: quote:As Jetta ran into the ring, she started to speed around slightly faster than Linford Christie doing the 100-yard dash. She ran to a post, jumped on it, and tossed about thirty boomerangs at Earthquake before he fell down. The angered Quake got up, and grabbed the nearest fighter...Orion. So now you have a taste of how quick-paced and action-focused it is, with fighters getting tossed out into acid and new fighters jumping in to replace them! Though all but pieces of the third installment went missing from the internet for some time, they're back now! It all begins here, where 120 fighters from a dozen different fighting games take to the ring: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11073838/1/Ultimate-Video-Rumble-The-Destruction-Begins

Here's a pretty good rumble. No acid, though: http://i.imgur.com/dwOkJy9.gifv edit: I guess there's implicit acid through the implied existence of the Joker. Sir Kodiak fucked around with this message at 19:42 on Feb 20, 2016 |
