THE LONG WALK 10: The name of the first month is Banuary  so what's this then this is where you get to do something about writing that novel you've always had inside you and can finally get all the sounds cool how does it work round about the first day of every month I put a thread up and you post in it to say how much new writing you're gonna post by 2359 PST on the last day of that month. there might be a little general leeway at the end of the month, but don't count on it and don't ask for extensions. lol imma post one word 'lol' there I won lol there's a 4k word minimum. you can pledge more if you like, but 4k is the ante. how many terrible words have been written through this thread and the ones before it? 1,398,000. Some of them might have been good? idk what happens if I gently caress it up every promise has to have a  attached. you fail, you get banned.how should I post my stuff up to you, but a link to a gdoc with comments enabled is best that way you won't restrict your publication options later. can I do short stories sure. Well...here's the thing. I just finished a 50k-word novel, and I just promised myself I'd take weekends off from now on, because I'm writing 25k words Monday-Friday after work at 5k per day. If I don't take weekends off, I bottom on during the week and end up writing fewer words overall. The novel is 50k words, and I need to do a full editing pass before I start my next one. I also want to read another book (market research) before I outline and start my new one, so I can't simply just pound out 10k words. I'm making some decent money at this, so the ~$30 getting banned from SA will cost me is less than the cost of loving up my entire writing schedule to squeeze out 10k words

im going to throw myself on the mercy of the lw gods. i didnt technically hit the literal requirements of my toxx. 2 subs:   so here is basically everything i wrote this month  book, up 2.5k from last timethis td rewrite is 2k this bs that will never go anywhere is 1.77k this autism is 330 words this sublime work of subtle genius is 1.2k despite appearances, i wrote this and it was 2k im gonna post this weeks td story later which is gonna be 1450 words total words: around 11k if im doing this guestimating math rite but in my toxx i said id do 6k for my book and thats not where the words went so judge me as u wish

I wrote 60k between two novels, completing one final draft with >2k new scene words and completing one first draft with >58k new bad words (and deleting 18k old, even worse words between the two novels). That's 58,004 new terrible words.  Plus something closer to 2,100 new bad words on the final draft of this novel's sequel, which Sebmojo's already seen, and thank you, I did cut that first paragraph. I probably should have cut every following one, but my delete key wore out.
