Yes, you can snag a wristband like the day of for people who are trying to just get SOME money back. Seen it all the time.

Seeing james murphy and 2manyDJ mix for about ~8 hours every day over 3 days is worth it.

Good to know!

Is it only them selecting records? Or did they enlist any help? I thought I heard that it was going to be the latter.

They brought about 7 hard cases filled with vinyl from their respective personal collections. Sometimes they'll b2b2b other times james will just spin whatever his fany. David and stephan are more meticulous in their selections, but each are unique in their own rights. I only ever saw James, Stephan, and david but I went in all day sunday (the hottest day).

That's all lovely to hear but still doesn't answer an important question: what kind of music did they play on Despacio?

In all honesty, I think besides Death Grips and LCD Soundsystem, I'm going to be in Despacio for a lot of the weekend.

You're going to do acts like Dubfire and Nosaj Thing a disservice by not checking them out.

Forgot about Nosaj and some others like M83. Haven't heard of Dubfire, it's worth checking out?

Very bummed that Skepta couldn't get a visa. :(

This live show? Hell yes! Also nosaj has a really cool show that I don't want to spoil (if you youtube this set you'll see it). Also these shows were half-full so you can sit or stand at them.

We saw the first portion of Sia and it was great, then we went to Anderson Paak and he was great too. That's just Coachella for you.

I would have gone both weekend this year, felt like I missed a lot more than previous years, even though I saw more than I usually do, too :)

Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's Jimmy T.
A little late for you weekend 1 folks but one recommendation I have is seeing the Lucent Dossier Experience if you haven't already. It's a complete mindfuck with amazing music combined with disturbing theatrics. Its unlike anything I had ever seen and is something I will always remember from my Coachella trip.

Lucent Dossier is at Coachella every year, and they typically do more than one set. They're also regularly at LIB. So if Coachella is a one time thing for you and you like weird modern dance, go for it, but IMO purity ring's new show blows it out of the water, volbeat's performance is pure satanic insanity, and LCD soundsystem is LCD soundsystem.

I almost don't want to make this post but I am just not a fan of Lucent anymore since they changed their music. I miss their old Do Lab shows (before it moved)

They came on about 10 minutes late; the first ten minutes was pretty strange music-wise, not at all what we were expecting. It SEEMED like the main singer was drunk (they even turned the music off at one point? it was really confusing). We left because we were getting bad vibes, but regret it after seeing some videos of the show later on, looked like everything was fine.

IDK... it was my strangest Coachella experience after Modest Mouse's horribly drunk set in 2013.

e: A couple people on reddit say the set was good; it wasn't very packed even when we left

I wandered in during what must've been the last half of the set. Tent was nearly empty, but I had a blast. Tons of energy and they sounded great. Danced my rear end off. I hadn't heard of them before though, I was literally wandering past and went in because it sounded cool and the tent was empty.

really? bummer that it was nearly empty. The ONLY video I can find of the set is this short one and it looks like a good crowd from the video but I know from being in that tent that they're probably only 1/4th of the way back if-even.
