It's just too bad Megatron couldn't come to Green bay. With the defense the Packers had last year and with our biggest problem being WRs, that team with him might have won the drat super bowl.

Not even Calvin can carry an offense that bad.

His cap hit was like 25 million this year if he played.

Good work, Mayhew.

What did you want him to do about it? It was structured that way because we also had Stafford and Suh's contracts to deal with.

I mean in retrospect, being historically bad enough to get a lot of top end talent through the draft at the worst possible time in terms of rookie contracts is pretty Lions.

But they're actually the Browns, a team that's always been good, and although it didn't get to keep the history when Modell moved them, it's the same organization that won 6 titles pre-merger too

Megatron is awesome but WR is the only position on the team where Jacksonville is not desperate for help (well maybe that and RB).

Huh, hadn't thought about that but now I'm interested. He's a really smart dude.

He probably doesn't need to do anything but if he wants to.

The Lions actually did him a favor by not doing much in the postseason because that prevented additional impacts!

Hindsight is 20/20 but we mortgaged the future for Suh, who didn't want to be here and left anyway.

I don't think you can defend putting yourself in a situation where one player has a 25 million dollar cap hit, no matter what the circumstances. That's poor cap management, and everyone knew it as it was happening. "This is really going to suck in 4 years" was a very common response at the time.
