I suppose in terms of consistent quality Season 1 is ahead of 2 but season 2 made a very strong showing and I think with season 3 we're really going to see some amazing stuff.

I re watched a lot of The Real Ghosbusters and seasons 1 to 3 are smarter than i thought they would be. There was a whole ep about the Cthulhu mythos. Several ep where somebody tried to destroy the world. References to the occult and paranormal in keeping with the movies. So Ghostbusters had balls, untill they retooled it to be all about stupid rear end in a top hat slimer.
