Also I will never run another game without using the +1 Distance variant, so far it's done exactly what it needed to for 3 games in a row and I'm very happy with it.

The only thing I might have done differently was pewpew at Raiders more than Heavies - as you saw, Heavies are actually not THAT threatening unless you get very unlucky since they don't activate very often. You also don't have to be quite so reluctant to use the MkVIIs, but it ended up not being a problem. Being the CAG is actually a pretty tricky role with DEFCON, so kudos for pulling it off. (With some drat good haiku too  )
