When I was in college I used a filter because the water tasted funny, everywhere else it tastes a-ok, so I don't.

On occasion when I turn on the shower in the morning, it will temporarily run brown (from, what the landlord tells me, are rust deposits) for a moment before clearing up so yes OP, in answer to your question I do use water filters

The worst is when there's sulphur in the water. Nothing like coming out of the shower smelling like rotten eggs.

the great thing about home-use water filters is that if you dont change the filters often enough they act as breeding grounds for all sorts of nasty pathogens

zerowater does remove lead, although im pretty sure it doesnt remove flint levels of lead. also if you drink water out of your fridge door, it is likely you already have a "top tier" consumer filter that is also certified to remove lead. because of this most people are in fact pussy rear end water filter drinkers

OP, have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water? Fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face. OP, do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk... ice cream. Ice cream, OP, children's ice cream. You know when fluoridation first began? Nineteen hundred and forty-six. 1946, OP. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.

A passive filter is not going to remove many harmful things. It will improve the taste, though, and having a jug of cold water on hand is nice.
