radiatinglines posted:are these artists actually japanese? Macintosh Plus/Vektroid basically created the genre, from the sound to the aesthetics, but I think she has left it behind and is doing new things now. I don't think it's fair to say it all sounds the same, each major artist has their niche: Saint Pepsi mostly works with samples from commercials, Yung Bae with anime theme songs, etc. Vektroid herself never made two albums that sounded alike. Floral Shoppe, sampled muzak, mood: undead mall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcsYSJwewWk compare with Home™, MIDI keyboard demos, mood: empty showroom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjbZyXod3mc hackbunny has a new favorite as of 16:00 on Apr 3, 2016 |

This has been driving me nuts all loving day, but in the music video for St. Pepsi's 'Private Caller', there's this clip from a video where a band is playing, half submerged in water. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ki-fATpXa00&t=136s I have been totally unable to find the origin of the clip in question. It seems that the band is probably "Casiopea", a Japanese jazz fusion band. Doesn't seem like anybody in the comments knows either.
