Okay look, I'm not really experienced in making Games threads but I don't want you guys to miss out on this so here goes:

This is Atlas Reactor. Atlas Reactor is a turn-based, team oriented MOBA. Kind of like XCOM 2 meets League of Legends, but so much more. On the surface, the game is really quite simple: you play as a member of one of two teams of four "freelancers," and each team tries to kill the other using various abilities (with cooldowns); first team to get five kills wins. There are three classes of freelancer: frontline, firepower, and support, and I'll just take it on faith that I don't need to explain the basics of what these classes do.

The real magic of this game is that on the surface it's really simple, but after playing a game or two and understanding how turns resolve simultaneously, one can see potential for using teamwork and strategy to devastating effect. This video explains it better than I really could.

Now I know what you're thinking: "But, uh zip zoom, this game is made by Trion, why would I bother playing a game by those guys?" yeah that's cool. You can get this game on steam no big deal but Trion is having a free weekend June 3-5 but either way here are the links:

Trion:
https://www.atlasreactorgame.com/en/sign-up/

Steam:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/402570/

Also of relevance is the sub Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AtlasReactor/

And you might want to check out the discord server, as it's where people find games, teams, organize tournaments, etc.:
https://discord.gg/0KC8Z8wyQHjiWofk

Seriously this game is not even publicly released but it's already super polished. If you get in on the free weekend, you'll get another free seven days to play after. I'm already addicted and I really would like to play with some more Goons.

Oh yeah, before I forget, I wrote a couple articles about the game but it's games journalism so really who cares but I may as well pimp them here because games journalists gotta games journal.

This game is really good, Xcom/FFT in an MP arena with simultaneous turns is amazing, it's like a whole new genre I never knew I needed, but I did.

This is a good game.

Ok this is really fun.

When stuff comes together it feels so good, although it does require everyone not locking in straight away/looking to see what you allies are doing with their highlighted area.

that depends. How do you feel about fish-related puns?

Also yes this is definitely a game that requires teamwork and coordination if you want to execute those sick combos (which is why I'm such a fan of Rampart); accordingly, this is why the discord server for the game is pretty active.

For some characters the taunts are gold. Dr Finn's Sturgeon one is great! I also love how aggressively british Garrison is and am always happy to see the Missile barrage taunt.

As you get bonuses (and teamwork will probably be better) feel free to add my Glyph thingy: FairyNuff#5602

This thread is beneath my talent, but I....shall elevate it.
So who wants to put up with me being bad long enough to add me to a few groups? Glyph name is Kooriken#7769.

Request sent!

Man there is almost nothing worse than having a great shot prepared and using a taunt then having the enemy dash out of shot :(

Also worth knowing that by highlighting enemies or by holding alt you can see which abilities they have available.

Well the other side of that coin is when you predict the dash and drop a trapwire on the path. :cheeky:

Just had a game like that, playing as Helio and had half their team charge through my barrier but I was using the weaken mod for it, they could have just skipped their next turn for all the good they did!

Was fun playin on OP's stream last night, come play with us ya goons, this game is going places.

It's one of the few Early Access games that is genuinely playable and polished and not just a pile of trash that will get abandoned after you all buy it.

Might be worth doing up the OP with explanations of each phase with mini header images, and then maybe quick overview of characters and their moves.

Better than just entering a draw if you go to https://www.atlasreactorgame.com/en/ you can sign up for 7 days of closed beta access to try the game out.

Edit:
Also new Freelancer Celeste.

Abilities

-Strong Arm
Launch two grapplers, which can deal damage to two separate targets or heavier damage to a single target. Grapplers can also can target power-ups instead, for use on the next turn.

-Promximo Charge
Place a 4-turn trap that is invisible to enemies. If the enemy is on the trap during Blast Phase, the trap explodes, dealing direct damage. The trap takes 1 turn to arm and cannot detonate the turn it’s placed.

-Smoke Bombs
Throw two smoke bombs that last until the end of the next turn. Smoke bombs block line of sight and deal indirect damage per turn.

-On The Run
Dash to two locations in quick succession. Enemies hit take direct damage.

-Safecracker
Fire dual grapplers that pass through enemies, targeted just like Strong Arm. If enemies hit have active might, energize, or haste buffs, gain the same effect the next turn.
