Negative Trend was another great band from SF (or Frisco, as us locals like to call it). Like most great punk bands, they burned out quick, but Will Shatter and Steve DePace went on to form Flipper. Their singer, Rozz Rezabek went on to date Courtney Love, and appears in the Nick Broomfield documentary "Kurt & Courtney." Rik L. Rik from F-Word was the singer after Roz, and other members started the Toiling Midgets. I read that V.Vale of RE/Search books fame was the original bassist of Negative Trend back when they were called Grand Mal, but I don't know if that's true.
