 Problem description:
Starting about 2 weeks ago, my MBP has been crashing an unusual amount of times. Apps have been crashing with the "Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)" error. Apps include Safari, Safari Web Content, and Dwarf Fortress. My computer will also spontaneously restart. It does show the "Mac Restarted due to problem" screen. No idea where to find the crashlogs for those though.

Attempted fixes: Did a fresh format and install and the problems continued. Ran Apple's hardware test (both regular and in-depth) and got no errors back. Disk Utility returned errors on old installation (while it was in disk mode), but nothing on the current one.

Recent changes: I originally thought it was an extension of some problems that arose from a bad OS install a while ago (Couldn't use Spotlight and stopped being able to open certain folders in the Finder). But these crashes are occurring on a fresh install on a freshly formatted HD.

Operating system: Before, MasOS 10.9 (I think). Problems continued on new install of 10.11.5.

System specs: MacBook Pro, 15", Early 2011 (A1286). 2.3Ghz Intel Core i7. Aftermarket 2x4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory (G.SKILL I think?). Aftermarket 1TB Seagate Hybrid Drive (ST1000LM014). AMD Radeon HD 6750M. New Battery Early 2014.

 Sounds like RAM. Do you still have the original RAM sitting around?

Also, for the 'computer restarted because of a problem' logs, they'll be listed as panic logs.

I've got iStat running in the menu. Haven't noticed a correlation yet, but I also haven't been looking. I'll get that and turn on the logs.

I have the original ram somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I've got a Mac Mini from the same era that I also upgraded the ram on, so it may all get mixed together. I was going to drop memtest on a usb stick and run it later today.
