The thing with sonic games is that the vast majority of them are bad. Freedom Planet is not bad and therefore up there with the best.

From what I saw ESA this year, they were plagued by technical diffficulties and the whole event had a more "home-made" feel to it than compared to GDQ, both good and bad ways. It should be easier to arrange next year if they continue in the same arena. e: It took me a little while to understand what is going on in the routing competition but it's definitely a fun concept. esa was nice, I enjoyed the 30+ mins of goony announcers goofing around between every game and I liked the low-key vibes everything had but I hope the next slew of technical improvements happen before and not during ESA 17 and also I'm sad there weren't more donations, well anyway that's my opinion on esa namaste

I had a ton of fun at the actual event itself but the marathon stream itself was kind of a clusterfuck of technical issues and bluntly kinda weak runs? i did meet a ton of speedbros and my run was apparently well-received so it was definitely worth my while
