Yeah, dragon meat isn't all that useful for someone who can already create infinite food. Come to think of it neither is the dragon since he can just copy the scales.

Another pretty good episode. I was wondering what Rasputin's power was going to end up being. Nobunaga's smiles keep getting better and better. Whoever's doing Hannibal has some surprisingly decent Latin pronunciations.

Which is actually kind of interesting, and suggests he's done his research, because while kobolds = lizards has been a thing in Western D&D for a while, in AD&D they looked more like dogs and that was the edition that got the most exposure in Japan. pretty sure those line troops were goblins which is strange, the shinsengumi are cops, they sure as hell should know that you dont urban fight with spears. and if you are forced to, you chop them in half also why the hell arent the ends trying to build gunpowder weapons of their own?

# ? Dec 17, 2016 03:21 |

Because they have super powers and the biggest army, so they don't feel like they need them? Also I don't think any of them would actually know how except maybe Jesus.

The Elves made a big ado about how only the Dwarves are good enough smiths to create copies of Nobunaga's musket, and the goblins/kobolds under the Black King are just barely starting primitive agriculture and metalworking.

At this pace this siege of the Orte capital is going to be the season finale. From what I know of the series production this season took a long while to make, so if another season is ever to be greenlit, it'll be years down the line.

saint-germi was a chemist in a time and place where gunpowder was common. he might not have known the specifics of how to mass-produce it like nobunaga, but he should have known the basic concept and he had like 50 years to experiment. i dunno, maybe he used all that time exclusively for governing and hedonism.

He seems to be completely 100% out for himself and avaricious to the extreme. I wouldn't be surprised if he was just waiting for someone else to come along to pulp the Orte Empire so he could pull the same "sell out the country for a good deal" scheme, and if that's the case, why bother working to create something that's directly benefit the long-term survival of Orte?

I wouldn't have known how to get the raw components in a world with dark ages tech, though.

I feel the need to remind people that in this anime the Mr. Big Dog himself Jesus of Nazareth gave a giant metal dragon super-cancer for being a prick and then used the dragon's metal tumors for supplying his monster army with armor and weapons.

my guess is the black king wants to freeze technological development of the non-human races at a pre-gunpowder stage for his endgame. so that's why he uses so many top-heavy technologies to gain a military advantage, like talisman command structures, or dragon whelp taming. once he and the rest of the ends are removed from existence, the non-human races will revert to a peaceful agrarian society. it will, of course, fail: those other races will make the same mistakes as humans and demihumans, and perform the same atrocities upon one another. i mean, they're even doing it right now actually if you want to look at a fairly stable post-musket agrarian society, edo japan would be a good contender, ignore the fact that it was enforced with brutal one-sided violence

I don't think Kouta Hirano would make the end of this manga a "villain wins war but goal was in vain." sort of thing. Annointed fucked around with this message at 02:17 on Dec 19, 2016 |

Pretty good for a season finale. Had a good laugh at Toyoshi and Hijikata devolving into a fistfight and the dwarfs and ghosts both watching with a real, "Man, these guys, huh?" look. Surprise appearance by Mitsuhide at the end! Here's hoping for a Season 2 sometime next year.
