Egypt is a country that claims to exist in Africa. They may be right but thats not important. What is important is they're going to the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Egypt has selected only one player to represent them and he's currently injured so they have a lot of work ahead of them if they're to do well.

Presumably even though Salah could leave Egypt and never return, he probably has friends and family back in Egypt and doesn't want the regime to punish them because he wouldn't do what they wanted.
