Besides he has his own thread in PHIZ where he can circlejerk with his friends about how industry I am (someone he's never met and knows nothing about), so maybe if we ignore him he won't come back.

I prefer to get music from the source (music labels, artists) and develop and build off my own tastes rather than from a secondary source (copying what other DJs play in their mixes). But being unique isn't for everyone.

lol @ thread

anyway, anyone know where I can find dub techno mixes? That poo poo is pretty awesome, not much to dance too but it's nice and chillax. This just came to mind after hearing this pretty awesome release on beatport

I think I might start putting some of this in my mixes actually :)

dub techno is totally great to dance to, its just on a way longer timeframe than more 'bangin' techno. its more about creating a long (like 4+ hours) groove than dropping 'huge' tracks. dub techno fuckin owns.

I did this in 2002, lots of abuse of the kaoss pad fx, a couple of funny record skip spots. I still listen to this mix a lot, might be one of my favorite pieces of work.

I recorded a mix of some pretty banging techno tonight, going to listen to it a few times and decide if it's any good.

As you wish.

My latest mix, recorded with a friend. No-nonsense techno, with some darker stuff and some tribal, around 128-129 BPM. Title based on the amount of alcohol in booth our bloodstreams, which was quite a lot. I somehow seem to do better mixing after a few beers though. Or it could be that this mix is horrible, but I was too drunk to hear. In that case, I apologize. ;)

Hick-up in the middle because Traktor decided to be a bitch when importing a new track.

Exact tracklist currently missing, but includes tracks by:

- Radioslave
- Slam
- Spektre
- Adam Beyer
- Egbert
- Michel Cleis & Salvatore Freda
- Mark Brown & Steve Mac
- Lutzenkirchen
- D-Nox & Beckers
- Martin Worner
- Steve Lawler

Nothing extremely new, just a bunch of favourites really.

Gear used: 2x CDJ800 MKII, DJM-600 & Traktor Scratch Pro

Feedback as always appreciated.

bangin mix. good show

ps, for all you breaks DJs, where do you get your tracks?

archie
Sep 16, 2003

Mr Lee! Why You No Wear Uniform?
tidy work getting into your breaks Vernacular!

other than promos and stuff i get my breaks from:

breakbeatonline.com
juno.co.uk (good for rare stuff / booty stuff)
beatport.com
trackitdown.net

quite a lot of the breaks record labels have their own online stores

another good place to look / sign-up to is https://www.nuskoolbreaks.co.uk and have a poke around - lots of artists release stuff for free on there and pretty much every breaks dj + producer have accounts there

i'd also highly recommend tuning in to https://www.nsbradio.co.uk - loads of producers and dj's have shows on it and if you ever hear a tune you want to buy just jump in the chatroom and ask the person spinning.

speaking of which my show's at 9AM GMT today... (in 6 hours!)
