I heard this song in a restaurant but could not find out what it is.

It was a calm song sang by a woman with a very sweet voice. It was kinda countryish I think, but my mind may be playing tricks. She would sing something and then end with "tonight" at the end of the verses. I think it was "something" me tonight.

Her voice reminded me a bit of Lily Allen in "Not Fair". Any clue?

Been looking for this song for a while when I saw it on a video on Youtube

The video author won't say what the song is and a search for the lyrics turns up nothing. Anyone have a clue what the song or perhaps the artist is?

I'm looking for a cover version of "Careless Whisper" that I heard on a flight a few weeks ago. There seems to be quite a few cover version and Youtube and Google have both failed me. Its done in a a 50's or 60's style, almost doo-wop, but not quite. Help me music-goons!

This is probably a terrible guess, but could it be Sibylle Baier - Tonight?

Although that song kinda fits what I said, no it isn't. The one I'm looking for is a bit faster-paced.

(Thanks anyway, I enjoyed it!)

The only thing I can think of that has a repeating sample like that is a song called "Look At The Musik" by Darling Kandie. If you go here, you can hear a sample of the song. The sample in question comes at the very end so listen carefully. The only problem is that the "I am electric, I am electric" sample is female... I know you said male but it was worth a shot.

(As a side coincidence, Darling Kandie is a side-project from the Thrill Kill Kult's vocalist)

Nope, but I appreciate the effort. More tunes to listen to anyway :)

Looking to identify which Philip Glass song (if any) the particular little bit around 1:55 and 3:24 in this video comes from, or recommendations to any Philip Glass songs that sound a bit like that -- which reach a whole climax where it's a bunch of different patterns all playing at once, layered over one another.

haha that's kind of just how a whole lot of his music sounds dude, the basic point of the video is that it's really easy to ape. the guy's not quite getting it though.

check out his piano metamorphoses + mad rush (this does the faster stuff especially ) though, they sound like a lot like what the guy's playing if you like the piano music. "the grid" from koyaanisqatsi is a pretty great example if you just want to hear the tempo changing. or seriously eighty percent of everything he's ever done.

Yeah, he is so into it which makes it really fun to watch. I enjoy how it's almost like he is simultaneously showing his appreciation for Philip Glass while also taking the piss a bit. It's also a very accurate video, that is literally exactly what Philip Glass is like.

The 3:24 part sounds a lot like Pruit Igoe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t29fgA5M7VA around 3:15). Well the first half at least. But yeah, his music really does all sound like that (and is awesome).

I heard this song with really generic lyrics that went (in this order) "Last vegas, Miami, New York, LA Japan..(missing)...Chi-Town...(missing)...put your hands up. It sounds like it's from the past year or so, and it was a dance song that had a great club beat but i haven't been able to find anything on google. I know it's vague but there's not much to work with in the first place.

It might help your search if you keep in mind that "Fire Water Burn" is basically a cover of "The Roof Is On Fire" by Rockmaster Scott.

this is absolutely killing me, I can't remember any of the lyrics of the song at all, and all i can remember is a bit of the tune that keeps going on over and over in my head.

This is the best i could re-create it, the song is a female voice, and the lyrics kinda flow together.

i know the first bit of a song's melody but nothing else, and it's driving me nuts

clues:
    * found it in a 6+ month old fyad thread where people would try to post songs that danny manic would like (he thought this one was pretty good)

    * song's from the 80s or early 90s

    * I think it was by a one-hit-wonder brit band with a short name, but I'm not completely sure about any of those things

    * Also the music video was just the band playing the song on a beach

Heres a vague one. I was at a dance club a few weeks ago, and among the songs they were playing, there was this one song, it was some electronic/dance tune, but all i cant remember about it was that there was a clean piano in it, with about 4-5 chords driving the whole song, very catchy. Im pretty sure it was in 4/4, it was typical dance music speed.

Unless theres another song similar to that one, thats it.

The thing thats messing me up is that the bass in the club was turned all the way up so I wouldn't/didn't really hear the actual piano part, which doesn't sound too familiar. But when i listen to the lower synth part its very close to what i remember. A slower piano that went from low to high.

Half of me says that its the song, but the other half says no way.

Hey, anyone know the song Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" song is based off of? some 70's or 80's song or something.... It's fairly popular. I think it's kine of like some gogo dance song (or not...). I've been googling "Lady Gaga" "Paparazii" "remix of" "song based on" to death and I still can't find it.

edit: Actually it might only be the chorus that's "stolen" from another song, and the song might be fairly recent.

Thanks!

Theres this techno/dance song I remember hearing when I was in Italy in the late 90s, possibly 2000. I only remember a little bit of the song but what I do remember is something like an alarm or siren in the beginning, or at least thats what the beat sounded like. No vocals that I can remember, but there may have been some.

Its almost an offshoot of Robert Miles - Children, but I remember it being more high tempo and some kind of siren or alarm goin at the start of the song.

After being failed by google, I decided to come here for some goon assistance. I was flipping through the local college radio stations, and I caught part of this ballad that was really chill. It was one guy singing along with a piano. The lyrics included a line something like, "I play this grand piano, and I feel you in the keys", but searching based on that phrase has done me no good thus far. Either it's a really obscure song, or I'm remembering the lyrics wrong.
