The cached version on Google comes up with that quote being from May 07, so I don't think it's current. Even still, not having that stream is a huge letdown, apart from my podcasts and Stern on Sirius, that's about all I listen to while working on homework.

Cached version here, no mention of the recent downtime. He just bought an SSD a few months back to resolve performance issues. The main site is up, just the loveline subdomain is down. I've just been playing random tracks from the other loveline archive in the mean time. http://loveline-archive.info/loveline/

Today is the one year anniversary of Carolla's podcast He's had some horrible shows, but it's still pretty impressive that he's done this on a mostly-daily basis for an entire year. 270+ episodes is pretty crazy. Also, they're selling the entire first year on DVD on Carolla's site for 35 bucks.

I just noticed that the loveline-archive.info site has this notice:quote:Update (2/12/2010): The way I've been hosting this may not be viable anymore. With the growing amount of traffic and content, a dedicated server might be required. If this is the case, I might have to ask for donations to keep the site up. I'll put a PayPal donate button here if that's the case. I'd need to come up with about $120 a month for the server (and donors would of course be given shell access!). I should know within the week if that'll be required. Hopefully, that site doesn't disappear as well. I might figure out how to setup my dedicated server with a limited stream for a few goons.

I was actually just listening to it today at work again, it's really interesting. It was basically just him and Dr. Drew sitting in a room in his house shooting the poo poo with no format or restrictions, which I'd always wanted to hear since I got hooked on Loveline. The phone bit really didn't seem like that big a deal, and was actually pretty funny (even though he was obviously pissed and you can hear the phone hitting the door). He rants for a good 10-15 minutes about people doing things that annoy him while Dr. Drew is laughing and trying to calm him down.

A year into the podcast is a good enough time to opt out I think. I've had enough of his show. I'm a young person and Adam is an old cynical guy, I don't think I need his voice in my head. Good times though.

Adam was on Chris Hardwick's Nerdist.com podcast this week, and it was pretty good. It's funny though that the sound for the first two Nerdist episodes (Thomas Lennon and Drew Carey) was so much better than the sound on the one at Adam's house. Maybe Adam is haunted by the ghost of a raspy microphone.

Hopefully I'm able to shed some light on Phil's Loveline Archive being down. My dad just started listening to Loveline about a week before the archive went down, and was enterprising enough to send an e-mail asking what's up. Here's what he got back:Phil posted:Mark, So that's good. On to other issues: Arturo Ui posted:All right I've gone through this whole thread and compiled a list of stuff I'm looking for/want explained that hasnt been mentioned yet...would appreciate any help. First off, the Alec Baldwin episode is January 13, 2003. He's only on half the show. The pineapple juice episode is most likely long lost. I just recently listened to an episode where Adam talked about remembering where he was listening to Drew do that episode long before Adam ever dreamed of being a Loveline host. Depending on how badly you want to find the "but he was really sweet!" episode, I'm pretty sure it was early 2001. The first episode I heard was a special episode all about ecstasy in January 2001 and started marching forward from there. I'm pretty sure the "but he was really sweet" was soon after that. "Why you act so stupid like that" and "no, Idrinkalcohol" were within the first few episodes I heard, too. On that same line of thought, "You can't arti...you can't articulate..." was pre-2001, because that already existed. I'm not prudent enough to do as you did and scour this thread. Can anyone tell me what episode the "Uh, the world is your oyster, because that's all the world is" came from?

Couldn't stop the tears from rolling down my face, though, so I probably looked loving crazy. And the recent podcast with Bob Schneider was hilarious. So was the Ben McKenzie/Michael Cudlitz episode. Best episodes so far this year, and they were only a few days apart.

Also I would just randomly burst out laughing. They finally noticed my ear buds and put it together. I wish there was more episodes with Jimmy Kimmel, those are always the best because of the stories about Adam, or them just letting go on the gas.
