Yeah I play bass. Richmond does have a pretty sweet punk scene. Always a lot of bands popping up. Where do you live? I want to play anywhere and everywhere so hopefully we can play a show near you next time out.

punk in JC is pretty much limited to Bridge 9/Deathwish style of bro-core. I wish I could be in Nashville for the show at Glenn Danzig's House. That venue rules, the guy who owns it rules, and the Cannonmen are easily one of the most exciting bands on my radar right now. Sadly, I won't be home until the 24th :(

EDIT: seconding Ashville, that town is amazing. There are some great Ashville groups that get ZERO attention outside of Ashville.

I can't believe I've never thought of this before, but are there any girl led screamo bands in the vein of suis lune, la quiete, pianos become the teeth, daitro, sed non satiata, age sixteen etc.??

i occasionally listen to bands like Rainer Maria, Rilo Kiley, and Camera Obscura, but my real passion is for bands like the above, and I never even entertained the idea of girl screamo before.

1905 and Circle Takes the Square both have dual guy/girl vocals. I remember I Would Set Myself on Fire for You had a female vocalist but I haven't listened to them in ages so I can't remember if she just sung or did screaming vocals.

So I've been listening to the methadones a lot lately, and I hate myself for not giving career objective the listening it deserved to until recently. It's an amazing album, I like it the best of the methadones' releases. Speaking of which, isn't there a new album or something due to be released sometime soon? Anyone have any word on that?

I haven't heard anything about it, but I imagine it would get pushed back with new Riverdales/Weasel material coming up.

Also, new Rumspringer drops June 2nd. Get it from Traffic Street when it comes. Let me look, I think there's songs streaming now.

You could make a certain argument that Anomie and Tem Eyos Ki, and to a lesser extent Kill The Man Who Questions, could be lumped into that same category.

I don't think anyone has asked this before but is anyone going to Cry Me A River Fest in Germany this year?
Here's the line-up:

MILVAINS
DING DONG DEAD
HAMMERS
PLANKS
ALPINIST
DOLCIM
GLASSES
LOMA PRIETA
PUNCH
COMADRE
FARGO
ME AND GOLIATH
RESURRECTIONISTS
MERKIT
GRINDING HALT
JUNE PAIK
TITAN
DANSE MACABRE
BATTLE OF WOLF 359
ZANN
SADDEST LANDSCAPE

I'm awefully disturbed by the lack of Louise Cyphre but I saw them last year so it's not too big of a loss. Pretty psyched about The Saddest Landscape though.

Suis La Lune is pretty badass, would love to see them sometime. And BOW 359 is really amazing live. I saw them last year still thinking they were kinda "meh" and I was simply blown away as I found myself punching the stage like crazy midway their set.
